RS Feva Worlds - Day 1 - 3 qualifying races held

A very interesting day played itself out at the PSP Worlds in Gottskar today.

The weather was showery with light winds and this put a premium
on consistency and this is of course what we got from the day 1 leaders.

105 boats out on the course split into 4 flights with 2 racing each
other at any one time on a trapezoid course using outer and inner
loops. Italians Edoardo Semenzatovo and Ludovico Bonsi are the pace setters despite not winning a race yet. They make up though with consistency banging a 3,3,2 day. Brits James Bolingbroke and Gavin are second 1 point adrift with British national champion Tim Gratton and Chris Taylor one further point back despite winning 2 races.

Richard Harrington and Conor Lydon lead the Irish charge on equal
points with Gratton/Taylor and they are in turn just ahead of the
current European Champions from Sweden, Sofia Engstrom and Frida Langenius.

Tomorrow marks the last day of qualifying after which the fleet will
be split into Gold and Silver Fleets. A lot to play for then in the
predicted wet and solid force three.
