The second day of the RS Feva Worlds was blown out with severe weather conditions not even suited to ducks. Qualification for the Gold/ Silver fleet was therefore based on the ranking positions after day 1. The Ranking position at the end of Day 1 sailing thus becomes the first race result in the final series. This will be gutting for some and great for others. There is a terrific picture gallery on Gabrielle Moreheads website at http://estore.gm-photo.com/?
Action=_VC&id=2154220&ppwd=vp5692kk . You will see that on day 1 conditions covered all sorts from force 2 and sun to force 4+ and monsoon!
Everyone is looking forward to racing today after the break yesterday.
The current wind is 17 knots and forecast to slowly decrease over the day and the cloud to break up early afternoon giving way to blazing sunshine. Heaven! Given that the 29er Europeans last year were a the same venue in the same week you couldn't have more different conditions! Ever heard the line 'it's never normally like this here'?
Well that sort of explains it.
